Crochet Brooches

I enjoy making these brooches, as it's an opportunity to play with interesting yarn and come up with all sorts of combinations. It's fun to embellish them with glass pearls or seed beads. In some cases I have made my own felt balls, or centrepieces from polymer clay.

Freeform crochet doesn't follow a pattern. Instead you mix stitches and yarns and make it up as you go along. It does require patience, as not everything works the first time and you sometimes have to unravel parts and try again!
